Before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had a lifestyle blog, The Tig, which was a \u201chub for the discerning palate – those with a hunger for food, travel, fashion and beauty\u201d.<\/p>\n
She would regularly update her website with her latest adventures and recommendations, and it was where she shared recipes too.<\/p>\n
Whilst the blog\u2019s content is unavailable, lots of it has been archived, and Meghan\u2019s Mirror (a dedicated website chronicling Meghan\u2019s style) shared the Duchess of Sussex\u2019s recipe for the \u201cSignature Tig Cup\u201d which is \u201ca Tig take on a Pimm\u2019s cup\u201d.<\/p>\n
In the archived blog post, Meghan spoke about her love of summer, recalling \u201csun-kissed afternoons\u201d with a \u201ccocktail in hand\u201d where is \u201csurrounded by nothing but the laughter of your closest mates\u201d.<\/p>\n
She mentioned enjoying \u201cpicnics and barbeques\u201d and \u201claying out by the pool with friends\u201d with a drink in her hand.<\/p>\n
Usually, she would favour a \u201cglass of ros\u00e9 or crisp Sauvignon Blanc, sometimes the day calls for a cocktail\u201d and that\u2019s when she created her own version of a Pimm\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Meghan noted her \u201clove of all things Brit\u201d and wanted to create a \u201ctwist\u201d on the signature drink. She used \u201ccues from the season\u201d, selected fresh farmers\u2019 market ingredients, and said the drink will keep you hydrated \u201cduring those long summer days turned nights\u201d, and is a \u201cguaranteed crowd pleaser\u201d.<\/p>\n
Pimm\u2019s is a gin-based spirit that is \u201cinfused with fruity notes of bittersweet caramelised orange, fresh citrus and herbal flavours and perfectly balanced when mixed with refreshing tasting lemonade\u201d.<\/p>\n
The brand recommends serving it \u201cover lots of ice and garnish with fresh strawberries, oranges, cucumber and mint\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Tig\u2019s version includes fresh mint, cucumber, grapefruit, radish, and celery, and makes two drinks.<\/p>\n
– Fresh mint
– Fresh ribbons of cucumber
– Grapefruit rind
– Shavings of radish
– Thin stalks of celery
– Ice
– Lime
– Your favourite gin
– Soda water
– Tonic water
– Maraschino cherry liquer<\/p>\n
Don’t miss… <\/strong> 1. Stack cucumber, mint, celery, radish, and lime into the glasses, then add ice until full.<\/p>\n 2. In a shaker filled with ice, add two shots of gin and a splash of maraschino cherry liqueur. Shake.<\/p>\n 3. Pour tonic and soda water into the glasses.<\/p>\n 4. Strain the gin and liqueur mixture into the two glasses and finish each drink with a twist of grapefruit over the top.<\/p>\n This drink can also be made as a pitcher to share with friends. <\/em><\/p>\n Meghan\u2019s instructions include \u201cbuilding your glass\u201d with the ingredients – \u201cany or all of the above are great, but the key pieces are citrus and herbs\u201d. If you don\u2019t have grapefruit, lemon works just as well, and the radish can be left out.<\/p>\n As for why tonic and soda water are both used, Meghan said she \u201cdoesn\u2019t gravitate towards the taste of tonic\u201d, but it can be \u201cplayed around\u201d to individual preferences and tastes.<\/p>\n In terms of the Maraschino cherry liqueur, the former actress admitted to \u201cloathing syrupy sweet drinks\u201d, but the cherry liqueur is a \u201cback note in the drink\u201d.
