This recipe is tried, and true! It makes a hearty mustard, that gives you the pop your looking for in a house made mustard.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown mustard seed
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard seed
- 1 1/2 cups white wine
- 2 tablespoons diced shallot
- 1 cup white wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Steps
Utilizing a large glass container, combine the following: Brown/Yellow mustard seed, white wine, and shallot. Mark the date on the jar, and set aside for 72 hours. Keep in a cool, dry, evenly controlled environment. Back rooms, utility rooms, etc..
After 72 hours, combine the following ingredients into the same jar with the mustard seed, wine and shallot: vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Shake well and set aside for 5-7 days in the same well controlled environment.
After 5-7 days, blend well and place into a proper storage container for the refrigerator. Let cool, it will thicken:) Serve & Enjoy!!!!
