Pork binagoongan

One of the underrated dishes I love. Hope you like it. I made it very easy for beginners to try and surprise their families.


  1. 2 lbs pork shoulder (large cubes)
  2. 2 tbsp shrimp paste
  3. 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  4. 1 small onion (sliced)
  5. 1 1/2 cup water
  6. 2 tbsp vinegar
  7. 2 tbsp brown sugar
  8. 2 chili peppers (chopped) *optional
  9. 1 medium size tomato


  1. Sauté pork cubes on high heat until browned and fat is rendered.

  2. Remove excess oil and add crushed garlic, until browned, then onion and tomato.

  3. Add shrimp paste and chili and mix.

  4. Pour water and vinegar then bring to a boil.

  5. Continue simmering until sauce is reduced.

  6. Garnish with chopped onion leeks. Serve hot
