Gyūdon (Japanese Beef Bowl)

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 Yellow Onion
  2. 1/2 Carrot
  3. 200 g Beef slices
  4. 500 ml Water
  5. 3 tbsp. Bonito soup stock
  6. 3 tbsp. Light soy sauce
  7. 1 tsp. Sugar
  8. 1 tbsp. Mashed ginger
  9. Some cooked rice

Steps

  1. Prep: Chop onion, shred carrot, cut beef into small bites.

  2. Marinate beef with 1 tbsp. soy sauce for 10 minutes.

  3. Put onion, water, bonito soup stock, sugar, lastly carrot, bring to boil.

  4. Add beef and mashed ginger into the pot and cook until beef is fully cooked.

  5. Pour on rice, server right away.
