- 2 lbs Ground Beef
- 3/4 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tbsp Dried Minced Onion
- 1/2 tbsp Parsley Flakes
- 1/2 tbsp Oregano
- 3/4 tbsp Seasoning Salt
- 4 slices Provolone Cheese
In a mixing bowl combine all ingredients until well blended together.
Separate beef mixture into 4 equal parts and press into patties.
Heat grill to 300-325 degrees.
Using your thumb press an indent into the top of each patty. Place patties onto grill and place a small ice cube in indent.
Allow burgers to cook about 5 minutes then flip over and cook another 5 minutes on the other side. *** Note watch burgers cook and if at anytime the coals flare up spritz them with a little water but only enough to control flames and not put out coals. ***
After cooking the 2nd side for about 5 minutes cover each patty with a slice of provolone and close grill lid for 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Remove from grill and keep warm until ready to serve.
Side note….of course you can cook these burgers however you prefer, or are able to depending on your situation, but after cooking them about every way possible I have found that I like them best cooked over charcoal or a campfire to get some smoke flavor and a little char from the fire.
