Got this recipe on vegan 100 book . I didn’t have some of the ingredients so I left it out , like the the buckwheat flour I used regular flour, and I added some corn just because it was already mix in with my black beans from something I made the day before . This is going to be my main burger recipe so I don’t feel left out at a cookout or grilling at home.. it’s simple and easy, and I can change it up some. Way cheaper than the morning star frozen black bean burger in the store. ( these do fall apart easy but you can shape them back in no time, I added some extra bbq sauce, so that might be why , so flip them over easy when cooking reshape as needed.)
- 1 can chickpeas drained
- 1 can black beans rinsed and drained
- 1 red pepper chopped up small and sautéed
- Spring onions chopped up small and sautéed
- Mushroom chopped up small and sautéed
- 3 tablespoons bbq
- Zest and a pinch of lime juice
- 5 tablespoons buckwheat flour
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp pepper
- Grilled bun
- Rainbow slaw
- Fried plantains
- Bbq sauce
- Crispy onions
In a food processor, add both beans and palse a few times (3-4) set a side.
Sautéed mushrooms, red pepper and green onion
In a bowl add the beans and sautéed veggies and the rest of ingredients, mix
Shape into patties
In a frying pan add some oil, heat it up, cook the patties 3 mins on each side over medium heat.flip easy, reshape if they fall apart.
Bake in oven, on 350 on a lightly greased cookie sheet I used the spray kind. Cook for 10 mins then flip and cook them for 10 more mins.
My buns went bad so I had to use bread.
