- 1/2 cup real mayo
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 3 tbsp fresh minced basil (reserve 2 tbsp)
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Small shallot peeled and halved
- Small garlic peeled
- 1/4 tsp fresh ground kosher salt
- 1/4 fresh ground black pepper
Add all ingredient to a small food processor with the exception on 2 tbsp of the basil, process until smooth.
Taste for seasoning and once your satisfied stir in the remaining 2 tbsp of basil but do no process again.
Add to a container with a tight fitting lid and store overnight to let the flavors marry and consistency to thicken, keeps for 1 week.
