Basil buttermilk ranch



  1. 1/2 cup real mayo
  2. 1/2 cup buttermilk
  3. 3 tbsp fresh minced basil (reserve 2 tbsp)
  4. 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  5. Small shallot peeled and halved
  6. Small garlic peeled
  7. 1/4 tsp fresh ground kosher salt
  8. 1/4 fresh ground black pepper


  1. Add all ingredient to a small food processor with the exception on 2 tbsp of the basil, process until smooth.

  2. Taste for seasoning and once your satisfied stir in the remaining 2 tbsp of basil but do no process again.

  3. Add to a container with a tight fitting lid and store overnight to let the flavors marry and consistency to thicken, keeps for 1 week.
