Asparagus orzo


  1. 1/2 cup orzo pasta
  2. 1/2-1 cup chopped asparagus
  3. 1/3 cup reserved pasta water
  4. 4 tbs butter
  5. 1 tbs minced garlic
  6. 1 lemon
  7. 2-4 tbs grated parmesan optional


  1. Cook orzo for 9 minutes, drain, reserving 1/3 cup water, set aside. Add asparagus, water, and garlic to pot and simmer about 5 minutes or until tender. Add butter to pot and stir in orzo pasta, salt, and pepper. Stir in parmesan if using. Top with squeeze of lemon.
