Update, September 28, 2020: Great news: Advent calendars are already being released for the 2020 holiday season. EVEN BETTER NEWS: Aldi is bringing back its iconic cheese advent calendar this year.
Yes, the Emporium Selection Advent Cheese Calendar is back and better than ever. It again contains 24 pieces of cheese you can enjoy each day leading up to Christmas. From cheddar to gouda, it’s all there. Not only that, but it’s also actually meant to be PAIRED with Aldi’s wine advent calendar so if you have both, well, your December is about to be very fancy, my friend. Keep an eye out for both cals in stores on November 4—the cheese calendar will be $14.99. Bless!
Original post, October 3, 2019: You’ve probably been seeing that boozy advent calendars are about to be The New Thing…because there’s nothing more fun than adding alcohol to the mix amongst all the holiday cheer. But you know what is even more fun? Twenty-four different kinds of cheese every day for 24 days. If that sounds great to you, Aldi is making your dreams come true.
After its popularity last year, the grocery store is bringing back their Emporium Selection Advent Cheese Calendar for the Christmas season because Aldi just knows what the people want (cheese! They want cheese!). The big blue box contains 24 mini imported cheeses and will feature universal favorite ones like cheddar and gouda, as well as bougier kinds like Edam and Leicester to help make you feel real fancy this holiday season.
The countdown calendar will be available for purchase at Aldi stores on November 6 for a whopping $14.99. So buy your mom, your uncle, your third cousin, and all of your friends one of these bad boys because, like, c’mon—24 cheeses for under $15!
And just to add a brilliant idea from moi: When you go out to Aldi’s to buy your cheese advent calendar, go ahead and buy their wine one, too. They do say cheese and wine are a match made in heaven. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, might as well make the most of it, no? Happy pre-pre-pre holidays, y’all.
