Marks and Spencer have launched a brand of Percy Pig ice cream that shoppers can pick up in their essential shop. When everyone in the country needs a little pick me up, this is sure to do exactly that.

Priced at £3, the retailer took to its Facebook page to announce the news.
Its post said: “Four words: Percy. Pig. Ice. Cream. Yep, you heard right. Percy-flavoured ice cream, with a ripple of fruit sauce and chewy strawberry marshmallows (£3 a tub) And yes, it’s suitable for vegetarians, too.
“Find in store when you’re next shopping for your essentials.”
The post has gained over 6,000 likes and has had nearly 20,000 comments from Percy Pig lovers.
One comment read: “Oh my word…I love Percy Pigs this is a dream. Will definitely get this when it’s safe for me to travel to my closest M&S.”
“OH MY GOD. In the worse times comes a raspberry flavoured Percylicious rainbow. YES,” said another.
The ice cream has the Percy Pig flavour of raspberry and grape, with a ripple of fruity sauce throughout, packed with soft chewy strawberry marshmallow.
It’s £3 for a 453g tub and can be found in the freezer section of your local Marks and Spencer.

The supermarket has also confirmed the ice cream is gluten free after being asked by customers on Facebook.
M&S recommends using the ice cream in a lemonade float or scooping it onto bananas and covering it in sprinkles.
However the Facebook image shows a couple of scoops in a bowl topped with Percy Pig sweets.
April Preston, Director of Product Development said: “Customers have been asking us for a Percy Pig ice-cream for a long time now, so we’re very pleased to be able to introduce one at a time when we could all use a little pick me up.

“Percy Pig is loved by so many, so when we develop a new Percy product, we have to ensure every element of the flavour and texture is synonymous with what our loyal fans expect.”
The Percy Pig ice cream follows the release of the M&S’ Percy Pig sauce which was released in February.
You can pick up a tub of the ice cream on your next essentials shop and make sure to comply with the government guidelines and practise social distancing while doing so.
M&S have also launched other products during the coronavirus lockdown.
Following on from Morrisons, M&S launched an essentials food box that is delivered straight to your door.
It is £35 and includes everyday essentials such as toilet roll, tinned food and pasta.
The box also contains Percy Pigs, salted peanuts and chocolate buttons.
Customers can order this box from the Marks and Spencer website.
