Aldi has unveiled what it calls “this season’s hottest product”. The discount retailer’s hot cross bun selection is vast, and customers are delighted with the range.
Aldi this week shared three posts on its Instagram account of its hot cross bun selection, as well as hot cross bun recipes to try out at home.
The supermarket has unveiled its hot cross bun range ahead of Easter, which this year takes place during the first week of April, with Easter Sunday landing on April 4.
Aldi’s hot cross buns are available in stores now.
The flavours include chilli and cheese, luxury fruited, triple berry, raspberry and Belgian white chocolate, rhubarb and custard, honeycomb, salted caramel and Belgian chocolate, and Bramley apple and cinnamon.
Customers were delighted to see Aldi’s hot cross bun range, with many commenting on the retailer’s Instagram posts.
“Saw these at the checkout today wish I’d have bought them now!” said one shopper.
Another Instagram user added: “Can’t wait for my next food shop now!”
“They all sound yummy,” commented another Aldi fan.

The supermarket also shared recipes that people can follow at home to make their hot cross buns even more interesting.
The recipes included a French twist, turning the classic Hot Cross Bun into a Croque Monsieur – a French staple that is similar to a toastie or panini.
To make this, the ingredients Aldi said shoppers need are: four Specially Selected Mixed Fruit Hot Cross buns, a pack of breaded Wiltshire ham, 200 grams of cheddar cheese, a medium egg, a teaspoon of Dijon mustard, and salt and pepper for the seasoning.
As for the method, Aldi explained that first customers should turn the grill to high.
Then, grate the cheese, beat the egg and mix them together, adding the mustard and a little salt and pepper.
Next, cut the Hot Cross buns in half and gently grill them on the uncut side.
Turn over the slices when lightly toasted and put a slice of ham on top, before dividing the cheese mixture between the slices and spreading it almost to the edges of the buns.
Grill the buns again for a couple of minutes until the cheese is golden, and then the Hot Cross Croque Monsieurs will be ready to serve.
In other Aldi news, one of the discount retailer’s chocolate Easter eggs has been judged the best white chocolate egg by BBC Good Food judges.
The Specially Selected blond beehive egg & hidden truffles took the top spot in the white chocolate egg category.
Costing only £14.99, the Easter egg boasts chunky honeycomb pieces and is available to buy in stores now.
Anna Lawson, Food and Drink writer at BBC Good Food praised the tasty Easter Egg explaining it “really wowed” the judges with its “many different flavours and textures”.
