Did you know that you can search Amazon to find the most popular products in all sorts of categories? It’s true — you can! Which means you don’t have to waste time scrolling through pages of search results or reading customer reviews. You can simply look to see what most people are buying and go from there. (It’s a less creepy way of looking in people’s real-life shopping carts while you’re at a store! It’s also a good way to learn about new-to-you brands!)
While you can look to see, say, the most popular food storage options and the most popular lunch boxes, we figure grilling stuff is some of the most mysterious cooking gear out there. If you don’t grill all that often, you probably don’t really know where to start. So let’s take a look to see what people are buying, shall we?
1. Cuisinart Tabletop Gas Grill, $170
Look up the most popular grills and the first two results may surprise you. They’re both small options for people with limited outdoor space or wishing to take the cookout on the road. This takes the top spot and we can see why: It hooks up to a propane tank (not included) and has an easy twist-start ignition. It has a large cooking surface and two stainless steel folding shelves. And it has more than 2,400 positive reviews.

2. Weber Smokey Joe 14-Inch Portable Grill, $35
This is the second option on that most popular grill list. It’s a mini version of the classic kettle grill and a long-time favorite among campers and apartment dwellers. It can make up to five burgers and weighs less than 10 pounds, so you can easily take it on your next adventure.

3. GRILLART Grill Brush and Scraper, $17
This bestselling grill brush has a 4.8-star rating, which is REALLY hard to get! Reviewers call it “the best grill brush you can buy.” The bristles stay intact (the biggest concern when it comes to cleaning your grill) and it has a built-in scraper. The biggest complaint seems to be that people wish it had a longer handle, but the company designed it this way on purpose to give you the best torque for the most pressure.

4. Habor Instant Read Digital Cooking Thermometer, $11
Our favorite instant-read thermometer isn’t sold on Amazon, so we were curious to see what would come up here. This is it! It gives a readout in four to six seconds and reviewers can’t get over the accuracy or the price tag! If you’re going to grill an expensive piece of meat (or even just burgers!) it’s worth spending the 11 bucks to make sure you cook it correctly.
5. DRAGONN Locking Kitchen Tongs, $12
We expected to see something from OXO or a grill-specific set of tongs here. Instead, we found this set, which comes with 9-inch and 12-inch tongs. Considering you can usually only get one set of tongs for this price, it’s a total bargain. The tongs lock closed, have grip-y edges, and are dishwasher-safe.
6. Home-Complete BBQ Grill Tool Set, $27
Technically, the first result here is for griddle accessories, but we didn’t think those counted for this (get it together, Amazon!) so we defaulted to the second option. This 16-piece set comes with a Swiss knife, spatula, tongs, basting brush, cleaning brush, corn holders, and skewers. And the case will make you feel like James Bond.
7. Grillaholics Grill Basket, $22
We have already sung the praises of this basket and we’ll do it again. Not only is it a bestseller on Amazon, it’s also a favorite among Kitchn and Wirecutter editors. It keeps small pieces from falling through the grates, but still allows them to get grilled (instead of steamed). Reviewers call it “amazing” and “perfect.”

8. FIREOR Barbecue Grill Light, $15 for two
Grilling in the dark? Each of these lights have nine high density LEDs to light your way. They’re battery-powered and magnetic, so you just stick them onto the lid or side of your grill and angle the light to where you need it.
9. Bad Byron’s Butt Rub BBQ Seasoning, $16 for 26 ounces
Search for the bestselling barbecue seasonings and this is what tops the list. You’d think it’s just for pork butts, but it’s also great on steaks, chicken, ribs, seafood, and veggies. It’s a blend of black pepper, paprika, and chipotle powder that gives a spicy kick to whatever you’re making.
10. Cedar Grilling Planks, $20 for 12
Curious to try grilling planks? These are the most popular ones on Amazon. Shoppers like them because they don’t char as easily as other planks, they’re big enough to put a few filets on each, and they impart a “magical” flavor that will make you look like a grilling master.
