Today is Cinco de Mayo—the day that incorrect Americans everywhere refer to as Mexican Independence Day.
But regardless of what people might believe the holiday commemorates (for the record, it’s celebrates the victory of the Mexican army over French forces in the Battle of Puebla in 1862), north of the border people in the United States observe the holiday in a similar fashion: plenty of Mexican food, plenty of Mexican beers and, of course, margaritas.

However, this year, just any ol’ margarita isn’t going to cut it. We live in the era of rainbow food, so if you want to party on May 5, 2016 – with the emphasis on the “2016” – you’re going to want a marg that embraces our modern times. Thankfully, the YouTube channel Sploid published the video above showing how to make a “technicolor graffiti margarita” – or as I like to call it, a freakin’ rainbow margarita. Don’t try to get all fancy with me and call it “technicolor,” okay?
Unfortunately, there is a downside: Making a rainbow margarita isn’t particularly simple: It requires a stencil and a kitchen mister. At this point, I’ll give you an opportunity to say, “Of course, I have a kitchen mister. Let me go get it.” Then you can slowly back out of the room and never return.
